COVID-19 Policies

CHILDREN’S CHORUSES MASKING PROTOCOLS AS OF FEBRUARY 21, 2023

Vaccine Requirement:

We require that all musicians be fully vaccinated including at least one booster.

Masking during services:

Masking is now optional for all rehearsals and performances. We reserve right to resume masking if:

  • There is a surge of illness amongst our membership

  • Cuyahoga County experiences a high level of community spread

Chorus members should report illness as soon as possible; anyone who is not well should stay home.

Arrival

• Prior to arrival at rehearsal or performance, each musician must conduct a Self-Assessment Check*

• If you are having symptoms, please do not come to rehearsal and be sure to email your manager directly or chorus@clevelandorchestra.com

Requirements for COVID-19 Positive Singers

  • Singers who test positive for COVID and are symptomatic (experiencing symptoms):

  • Isolate for 5 days, after which singer may return to services when symptoms have resolved and is 24 hours fever-free.

  • Wear a mask for the balance of 10 full days following the positive test per current CDC guidelines.

  • If an individual develops COVID-19 symptoms at a rehearsal or concert, they will be immediately sent home to self-isolate.

Individuals who test positive for COVID and are asymptomatic (not experiencing symptoms):

  • Isolate for 5 days, after which singer may return to services.

  • Wear a mask for the balance of 10 full days following positive test per current CDC guidelines.

Requirements for EXPOSED* Individuals who are asymptomatic:

  • Take a PCR test 2-3 days following exposure.

  • Wear a mask at all services while awaiting results.

People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported, ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.

*SELF-ASSESSMENT CHECK / HEALTH QUESTIONNAIRE

People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:

  • Fever or chills

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Fatigue

  • Muscle or body aches

  • Headache

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Sore throat

  • Congestion or runny nose

  • Nausea or vomiting

  • Diarrhea

Do you have any of the aforementioned symptoms?

• *Have you had an exposure? An exposure as defined by the CCF and CDC is being around someone who has tested positive without a mask, within 6’ or less, for a cumulative 15 minutes or more, in the 48 hours before they tested positive. Persons who are both vaccinated and masked are not considered exposed.

What kind of test do I need to take?

  • If you are experiencing symptoms, a rapid or at-home test is sufficient.

  • If you have been exposed but are NOT experiencing symptoms, you must take a PCR test. (Rapid tests are less reliable at detecting the virus when no symptoms are present.)
